Texas Holdem is one of the most popular poker games, often known as the ‘Cadillac of Poker’. It is also known as ‘community poker’ at times, or simply as Hold'em Poker. Texas Holdem game is the main event at the World Series of Poker tournament.

How to play Texas Holdem?

Usually, Texas Holdem is played by 2 to 10 players. The number can however go up to 22 players. Texas Holdem is played by following a set of rules and strategies. The dealer shuffles 52 playing cards.

First comes the first betting round. A betting pre-flop round starts off with the left player of the two players, who posts the blinds. Then each poker player is dealt with two cards face down, called pocket cards. Three community cards are known as the flop and are dealt with players face down on the table. The betting amount depends on the kind of the game, players can raise or check or fold. As the betting round ends, the Burn Card, being the top card on the deck, is cast aside by dealer to avoid cheating.

The next betting round starts with the player to the left of dealer. After its finished, the dealer burns other card and flips one more on the table. This card is called a turn card. The player uses the sixth card and makes a five card poker hand.

Another betting round starts in the same way. when it’s finished, the dealer burns a card and places the final card on table. Any of the five cards on table are used. They can use their own two cards to make a five card poker hand. Next, the final betting round begins with the player to the left of dealer.

Now, the players left in the game reveal their hands. Showdown begins from the left player of last player to call. The combination of pocket cards and community cards are used to make a poker hand. The player with the best hand wins. If two or more players are left in the game, a showdown happens. The player with highest hand wins the pot.
